Breweries are moving!
Komm mit auf eine schöne Brauhaus Führung!
Cologne has around 43 breweries, so there is definitely enough choice for Kölsch connoisseurs. Of course, we won't visit 43 breweries on a brewery tour, but we should be able to visit three or four. Our guides will take you to specially selected establishments that not only shape the cityscape, but where the Cologne way of life is also lived and loved. So that you don't miss out on the rarer Kölsch varieties on your trip to Cologne, we will take you to the best breweries and give you tips on what else you should see and which Kölsch is ideal as a beer to take away!
Always have cash ready
Drinks are not included on our public brewery tours. However, since the breweries have a minimum limit for card payments, please bring cash with you on our tours. This makes the barman happy - and ensures the optimal brewery experience!
Does it always have to be Kölsch?
No, of course not. There are certainly good reasons not to drink alcohol. Of course, a traditional visit to a brewery includes a Kölsch, but we'll be happy to explain to you how you can confidently handle this dilemma and successfully appease the gruff waiter!
Tipping in the brewery
We know that there are always discussions about tips, especially online. In Cologne breweries, tips are customary, usually around 10 percent. Understandable, because after all, the waiter works hard for us whenever we have free time and brings us our beloved Kölsch!
Just a
nice experience
Eine Brauhausführung mit Cologne Guide
The breweries are closely rooted in the mentality of the people of Cologne, as is the carnival. Local patriotism is not just a catchphrase for the people of Cologne, the love of the city is just as natural as the love of our football club, 1. FC Cologne. And of course the love of the greatest regional speciality. Of course we don't mean Himmel un Ääd, Suurbrode or Halve Hahn, we're talking about Kölsch! You can find out what Kölsch and champagne have in common and much more on our brewery tour.
Heaven and Earth
A classic on the menu of every brewery! Apples from the tree, i.e. from heaven, combined with apples from the earth, potatoes, a few fried onions and a really tasty Flönz, i.e. black pudding, form the basis for an incomparable taste experience!
Sourbrode
The Rhenish Sauerbraten - a true feast for the palate!
Previously made from horse meat, Suurbrode is now almost always made with beef. It is served with the typical sauce with raisins, delicious potato dumplings and sometimes with apple compote or red cabbage. Delicious!
Half a cock
The typical Cologne snack - half a Röggelchen with spicy medium-aged Gouda. Goes perfectly with Kölsch when you're not that hungry. You can find out why the Halve Hahn is called that even though it's not half a chicken on our brewery tour!
The Cologne
people
Lerne die kölsche Mentalität bei einer Brauhaus-Führung kennen!
You can recognize them from afar by their unmistakable dialect and pleasant intonation. We'll be happy to explain to you why the people of Cologne declare Kölsch to be their language and why Kölsch is therefore the only language you can drink. The fact is, this makes language learning fun!
